Quaker Men Ministry – Webuye Friends Church
The Quaker Men program at Webuye Church is a dynamic ministry rooted in Scripture, designed to uplift and empower men in their spiritual walk. Grounded in faith and service.
Quaker Men, are a dedicated group of men who actively participate in the spiritual life, service, and ministry of their local Quaker meeting. Rooted in the foundational values of the Religious Society of Friends, such as simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality, and stewardship, Quaker Men are committed to living out these principles in their daily lives.
Quaker Men take on key responsibilities, all guided by the Word of God.
1. Prayer and Intercession
1 Timothy 2:8; Colossians 4:2
Prayer is a cornerstone of the Quaker Men ministry. Following biblical teachings, we prioritize prayer as a powerful tool to connect with God, seeking His guidance and peace. Our prayers focus on the well-being of our community, and we intercede for those in leadership, fostering unity and harmony in both the church and society.
2. Visitation and Fellowship
Acts 2:46
In the spirit of the early church, where believers met regularly for worship and fellowship, Quaker Men gather in homes for Bible study, sharing meals, and celebrating the Lord’s Supper. Our fellowship extends beyond spiritual growth, as we also come together to share ideas on community development and income-generating projects, working to uplift those in need and combat poverty in our society.
3. Retreats and Spiritual Nourishment
Matthew 17:1-9
Quaker Men regularly organize retreats and overnight prayer sessions, stepping away from daily routines to dedicate time to prayer, worship, and studying God’s Word. Just as Jesus took Peter, John, and James up the mountain to pray, we seek God’s presence in a deeper way during these retreats, asking for His glory to strengthen our faith and lead us in all we do.
4. Conferences and Youth Mentorship
Quaker Men actively support the church’s mission by helping organize and sponsor church conferences, contributing spiritually, morally, and financially. In addition, we hold our own Quaker Men conferences to foster fellowship and growth. A core mission of our ministry is mentoring the younger generation, guiding them in their faith journey to ensure they grow into responsible, dependable adults who contribute positively to both church and society.
